CNC Cutting Tool Buying Questions
Clear answers about selection, samples, order quantities, delivery, packaging and repeat supply.
Find the Answer by Buying Stage
Choose the closest topic. If your code or application is incomplete, you can still start with a photograph or drawing.
I only have a model code, photo or drawing. Can you help identify the tool?
Yes. Send the clearest information available. We first identify the tool family and critical dimensions, then ask only for details that can change compatibility.
Which standard insert families are normally available?
Mainstream turning, milling, grooving and threading insert families are supported, including CNMG, WNMG, TNMG, SNMG, DNMG, CCMT, DCMT, VNMG, APMT, LNMU, RPMT, MGMN, 16ER and 16IR series. Exact grade, geometry and stock are confirmed against the requested code.
Can you provide dimensions and technical information?
Complete dimensional drawings can be provided for supported models. Substrate, coating, chipbreaker, internal grade information and reference cutting conditions can be reviewed against the exact item.
Can you help choose a grade or chipbreaker?
Yes. Share the workpiece material, operation, roughing or finishing requirement, current tool and the problem you want to solve. We use those details to narrow the grade and geometry direction.
Can you recommend a matching holder, cutter or toolholding option?
Yes. Matching turning holders, milling cutters, toolholders and common interfaces can be reviewed. Final compatibility is confirmed from the complete model and mounting details.
Can you supply special sizes, coatings or custom geometry?
Special dimensions, custom chipbreakers, special coatings, dedicated grades and unusual sizes can be reviewed for production. Minimum quantity and lead time depend on the approved specification.
What is the minimum order quantity?
Standard stock items normally start from one box, usually 10 inserts. Regular production normally starts from 50-100 pieces. Special grades or custom coatings normally start from 200 pieces.
Can I test samples before placing a larger order?
For common models, 5-10 sample inserts may be provided without product charge while the buyer covers freight. Special grades are normally supplied at sample cost. Terms are confirmed before dispatch.
How is the quotation calculated?
The exact designation, grade, coating, geometry, quantity, packaging, destination and requested timing affect the quotation. Larger quantities can receive quantity-based pricing after the specification is confirmed.
What are the normal lead times?
Confirmed stock normally dispatches in 1-3 working days. Regular production is normally 7-10 days. Deeper customization normally requires 15-25 days. The actual date is reconfirmed before order placement.
Do you offer neutral or private-label packaging?
Neutral unbranded packaging is available. Private labels can include the model, grade, batch, quantity and material group. Custom packaging normally starts from 50 boxes and may include a small setup charge.
What should I send to receive an accurate quotation?
Send the complete model if known, required quantity and destination. A tool photo, label, drawing, holder model, workpiece material or machining problem can replace missing technical information.
Can you provide inspection reports?
Dimensional inspection reports can be issued by order batch when agreed. Available checks include overall dimensions, thickness, nose radius, edge profile, coating thickness and substrate hardness.
Are products traceable by batch?
Products can carry batch identification. The approved designation, grade, quantity and inspection information can be retained to support follow-up and repeat-order review.
Can I receive photos or video before shipment?
Yes. Product, packing and label photographs or short videos can be provided before shipment when this is agreed with the order.
What information helps you review a machining problem?
Send the tool code, workpiece material, operation and clear photographs of the cutting edge, chips and machined surface. Speed, feed and depth of cut are helpful when available but are not required to start.
How do you review a replacement or quality concern?
We compare the supplied model, batch or order reference, photographs and application conditions against the agreed specification. The next action depends on what the evidence shows; no result is assumed before review.
How can I keep repeat orders consistent?
Keep the approved full designation, grade, chipbreaker, sample result, label and packaging requirement together. Reference that record in the next inquiry so any requested change can be identified before production or dispatch.
